Job summary

Community Access is seeking a Peer Respite Worker to mentor guests in the Intensive Crisis Residence, promoting recovery-oriented practices and 24/7 peer support. The role focuses on de-escalation, advocacy, and connecting guests with community resources.

The position requires experience in mental health settings, strong communication, and the ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Training and certification requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates empathy and active listening with guests in crisis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; respectful engagement.
• Ability to de-escalate crises and support recovery-oriented practices.
• Tracks progress and documents interactions in a timely, accurate manner.
• Familiarity with basic computer tools and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop mentoring relationships with ICR guests to promote recovery.
• Lead individual and group peer support activities and skills development.
• Collaborate with the ICR team to maintain a welcoming home-like environment.
