Addison Group is seeking an Overnight Patient Access Specialist for Berea, KY to support patient intake, registration, and scheduling in a healthcare setting. This onsite role requires attention to detail and customer service excellence while coordinating with care teams.

You will verify insurance, collect co-pays, and ensure HIPAA-compliant processing using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner. Evening hours Thu-Sat 7p-7a and Sunday 1am-7am with pay between $17 and $22 per hour.

Qualifications

• 1 – 2 years of customer service or administrative experience in any industry
• High school diploma or GED required
• Insurance verification and/or prior authorization experience required
• Associate degree or healthcare certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Register patients and maintain demographic information
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
• Explain financial responsibilities and payment options to patients
• Obtain required consent and privacy documentation
• Coordinate with providers, nurses, and insurance companies
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner

Job Description

The Patient Access Specialist is responsible for supporting the patient intake and registration process within a healthcare organization. This role serves as a primary point of contact for patients and helps ensure accurate scheduling, insurance verification, registration, and financial clearance while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Register patients and maintain accurate demographic information
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
