Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Registered Medication Associate (RMA) to provide high-quality medication management and direct resident care. This role supports residents in administration of medications under state standards, models company values, and collaborates with the Resident Care Director to ensure safety and well-being.

The RMA participates in in-service training, maintains certification, and works a schedule that may include weekends.

Qualifications

• Requires coursework and examinations to obtain certification as a Resident Care Associate.
• Maintains required continuing education credits to keep certification.
• Demonstrates knowledge of safe medication administration techniques via competency evaluation.
• CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain per policy.
• Understands and protects resident confidentiality.
• Must work weekends and flexible hours as needed for resident care.
• Demonstrates compassion for residents and families.
• Proficient with basic office equipment for performance of duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and safe delivery of the Medication Management Program.
• Adhere to policies and regulatory standards when administering medications.
• Administer and record medications as prescribed by the physician.
• Present medications to residents and observe ingestion.
• Document refusals and reasons for non-administration.
• Store and secure medications properly and monitor inventories.
• Record vital signs during medication administration as indicated.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Maintain professional communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Perform other duties per the job description.
