Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for a contract-to-hire role in Shafter, CA. This 3rd shift position focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of production and material handling equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining motors, pumps, conveyors, and automated equipment with basic PLC/VFD interaction, documenting work, and coordinating with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in manufacturing or food production.
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow maintenance procedures and equipment instructions.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and material handling equipment to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on motors, pumps, conveyors, and related equipment.
Identify root causes and implement corrective actions and repairs.
Work with automated equipment including basic interaction with PLCs and VFDs.
Inspect and maintain equipment to prevent wear or failures and schedule timely repairs.
Document maintenance activities and parts used according to procedures.
