Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced store leader to plan, direct and supervise team members across store departments.

You will mentor staff, implement strategies to boost customer service and sales, and oversee staffing, disciplinary actions and promotion decisions to maintain Meijer standards. You will also handle P&L responsibilities, drive sales growth and manage shrink while ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members and address root causes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve customer service and sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Disciplinary actions with recommendations for discharge when needed.
• Manage P&L, sales targets and shrink control.
• Promote Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and daily operations.
• Ensure team training completion and adherence to company standards.
• Spend most time in-store interacting with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
