Job summary

Oak View Group in Pittsburgh is seeking a Post Event Sweeper to oversee cleanliness and safety during events at PPG Paints Arena. This hands-on role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and strict adherence to site procedures.

The position carries a 90-day probationary period, after which the employee will be invited to join the union. Expect night shifts, weekend hours, and a collaborative team environment supporting large-scale events.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning compounds used in the role.
• Ability to lift and push/pull heavy objects.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment.
• Previous janitorial experience preferred; includes stripping/waxing floors and floor machinery.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Professional appearance and work ethic.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Capability for extensive walking, stairs, and standing.
• Work indoors and outdoors; tolerate adverse conditions.
• Able to work in high noise levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain neatness and sanitation in assigned areas at all times.
• Clean and sanitize assigned work areas that include seating areas, floors, restrooms, etc., using mechanical and/or manual equipment following proper sanitization protocols.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles in assigned areas and wheel full hampers to the compactor.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and paper products and notify the supervisor of needed items at the end of a shift.
• Maintain neatness and cleanliness of custodial storage areas and equipment.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Janitor and Operations Manager.
• Occasionally work as a casual utility, assisting in the set‑up of events.
• Be knowledgeable about locations throughout the facility.
• Be respectful, courteous, and helpful to all guests and fellow employees.
