Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician for the overnight shift in Chantilly, VA. You will support front-line emergency care, from triage through critical care, collaborating with doctors and staff to deliver compassionate, high-quality services for pets and their families.

The role requires credentialing in the state, AVMA-accredited education, and 1+ year of experience in veterinary tech roles, especially in emergency settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology is strongly preferred.
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician in the state where the VEG practice is located; VTS in ECC or anesthesia is a plus.
• 1+ year of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in critical moments from triage to discharge.
• Handle emergency cases, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood products, and other therapies as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team to shape plans and maintain care flow.
• Perform diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and support advanced techniques.
• Assist with anesthesia for fragile patients and support the RECOVER CPR program.
