Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group The PC is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in Midlothian, VA. You will join a fast-paced ER team delivering high-quality care for animals in triage, treatment, anesthesia and critical care nursing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred
• Basic computer skills and comprehension of practice management software and electronic medical record keeping
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; ready to lend a hand to support those around you
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg and up to 40 kg with assistance
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
• Able to work in a noisy environment with strong odors

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person like they matter and stay by their side through tests and treatments
• Deliver nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge in critical moments
• Manage IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions and other advanced therapies
• Communicate effectively as a team member and help shape care plans
• Perform CPR and use advanced techniques in diagnostics and monitoring
• Utilize imaging, sample collection, tube placement, anesthesia and endoscopy as needed
• Provide care with central lines, ultrasounds, and other equipment

Education
