Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center - Pharmacy in Illinois is seeking a pharmacist to work overnight in the Emergency Department. The role runs from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with seven consecutive overnight shifts and a 7 on/7 off rotation. PGY-2 in Emergency Medicine is preferred for this position.

Licensure in the state or reciprocity is required; immunization certification may be required by the department. Bachelor’s or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the state(s) of practice or eligible for reciprocity required
• Immunization and non-vaccine injectable certification required based on area of practice
• Credentialing and privileging required based on area of practice
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees pharmaceutical care, including retrieving and evaluating biomedical literature and designing medication therapy regimens
• Provides counseling to patients and caregivers on medication therapy, adverse effects, compliance, handling and administration
• Designs and monitors patient-specific pharmacotherapeutic regimens based on biomedical literature
• Reviews and interprets medication orders and prescriptions
• Participates in the management of medical emergencies when applicable
• Supports medication safety and quality improvement activities and reports events as required
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to manage formulary adherence and the medication-use process
• Assists in acquiring non-formulary, compassionate use, and investigational medications

Education

Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in pharmacy from ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy (or FPGEC NABP)
