Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Patient Care Pharmacist to provide overnight coverage for the emergency department and hospital-wide emergency response, as well as operations and clinical workflows within the inpatient pharmacy. Ideal candidates may have a PGY1 residency or three years of hospital practice and must be licensed to practice in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy required.
• Licensure/Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
• Experience: PGY1 residency or three years of institutional pharmacy experience in an advanced clinical setting preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Demonstrates ability to plan, organize and manage pharmaceutical care, including delegating tasks to and providing direction to other members of the pharmacy team
• Performs work independently with minimum supervision, and is effective in a stressful environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the preparation, distribution, and dispensing of medication in compliance with regulations and policies; directs and assists pharmacy staff.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory readiness and records related to pharmacy transactions.
• Manages pharmacy inventory, removes expired stock, and processes non-formulary requests.
• Interprets, evaluates and verifies all medication orders.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to optimize and cost-effectively manage drug therapy and monitor for interactions and adverse events.
