Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA seeks a Clinical Pharmacist II to deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department, focusing on optimizing pharmacotherapy, safety, and transitions of care. The role includes teaching and precepting APPE students, and opportunities to participate in committees and quality improvement projects.

This is a permanent night position (9 pm–7:30 am) seven consecutive days, followed by seven days off, within a collaborative multidisciplinary team of ED

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in Massachusetts by start date.
• PGY1 residency with at least 1 year of relevant experience; PGY2 in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care preferred.
• Two years of hospital experience and/or ASHP hospital residency are preferred, with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and optimize pharmacotherapy to improve outcomes.
• Ensure medication safety and facilitate effective transitions of care.
• Participate in trauma response and perioperative pharmacotherapy in the ED.
• Prepare select IV products for immediate use and support quality improvement projects.
• Precept APPE students and potentially train PGY residents where offered.
