Institute for Community Living Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the Joselow House in New York, NY. The overnight shift (11pm–7:30am) offers 40 hours per week in a residential setting, providing essential care and support to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a DSP certificate, and CPR/First Aid. AMAP and SCIP-R certifications should be obtained within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certificate from an accredited organization.
• Experience providing direct care to adults with disabilities preferred.
• AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR and First Aid certifications required or obtainable within six months.
• New York State Driver's License with clean driving record (if shift/location requires).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and health support, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, and medication administration (per AMAP).
• Support nutrition and mealtime activities, including meal preparation and safe food handling.
• Maintain a safe, clean residential environment with housing upkeep and safety compliance.
• Promote development, independence, and community integration through skill-building and transportation.
• Encourage positive relationships, communication, money management, and leisure activities.
• Document progress, participate in planning, team meetings, and staff training.
• Apply behavior management techniques and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
