Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in Lincoln, NE seeks an Overnight Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to administer medications and provide direct resident care on a night shift. The role supports daily living activities, safety, and detailed documentation while communicating with supervisors, physicians, and families.

The CMT will ensure accurate medication delivery, monitor vital signs, and assist with insulin where certified, following individualized care plans and five rights of medication

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution following an individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and report condition changes to physicians and supervisors; provide timely interventions.
• Document observations, incidents, interventions, and medication administration in the nursing record.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, physicians, and families; ensure timely shift handoffs.
• Administer medications following the five rights (right medication, route, resident, time, dose).
• Monitor and document vital signs, weight, and glucose as assigned.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and nutrition/hydration needs.
• Support restorative nursing techniques and safe transfers.
• Maintain a safe, restraint-free environment and participate in fall prevention.
