Job summary

Cedarhurst Living is seeking a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to join our team. The CMT will administer medications and provide direct resident care according to individualized care plans, supporting daily living activities and promoting safety and wellbeing.

The role requires documenting care and communicating with supervisors, physicians, and families to maintain the highest level of independence for residents in a person-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification is required.
• Insulin certification is preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution according to an individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians, health care proxies, and supervisors with timely interventions.
• Document all pertinent observations, incidents, and daily medication administration in the nursing records.
• Pass information to the next shift and oversee documentation by Resident Assistants to ensure quality care.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and glucose as assigned.
• Administer and document medications with the five rights and monitor insulin if applicable.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

State-approved medication aide/technician certification
