Job summary

YMCA Camp Greenville is seeking a dedicated LDP Cabin Leader to mentor teens in the Leadership Development Program. This full-time on-site role involves living in the cabin, guiding daily activities, and modeling the camp's core values of care, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Qualifications

• Experience leading groups of teens in camps, education, or youth programs.
• Must be 19+ years old or graduated high school by June 2027.
• CPR/First aid certification or ability to obtain by June 2027.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct guidance, supervision, and group management to a cabin group of campers ranging in age from 14-17 in the LDP Program while living in the cabin.
• Collaborate with the LDP Coordinator and camp staff to ensure smooth program delivery and camper success.
• Live in the cabin with the campers and provide 24/7 supervision and manage day-to-day living.
• Ability to work with participants of all backgrounds.
• Responsible for teaching activities, assisting with evening and weekend programming, and leading campers in free time activities.
• Serve as a role model, upholding our camp values, and working with integrity, creativity, and safety in mind always.
• Responsible for the health and well-being of the campers mentally, emotionally, and physically, during their time at camp.
• Must approach responsibilities in a fun, creative, enthusiastic, and professional manner.
• Facilitate and lead training sessions for LDP participants in grades 10, 11, and 12.
• Communicate effectively with camp leadership regarding camper progress, behavior, and needs.
• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
• Attend/complete required abuse risk management training.
• Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
• Follow mandated reporting requirements.
• Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
