Job summary

Chapel Haven Schleifer Center Inc. is seeking a Per Diem Overnight Direct Support Professional to provide awake overnight supervision across residential programs.

The role requires flexibility to work across REACH, SAIL, and SLP residences and to respond to emergencies while ensuring safety and person-centered care. Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred, or four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently overnight and exercise sound judgement.
• Availability and flexibility to work per diem and on-call overnight shifts.
• Willingness to travel between REACH, SAIL, and SLP sites across programs.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and adapt to different program norms.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and computer literacy.
• Valid Connecticut driver license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide awake overnight supervision for assigned residence (REACH, SAIL, or SLP).
• Complete periodic apartment/residence checks during shifts.
• Assist with morning routines and medications per plans.
• Monitor systems (cameras, phones, emails) and respond to needs.
• Respond to emergencies or urgent situations appropriately.
• Document overnight logs and incident reports accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with outgoing and incoming staff for continuity of care.
• Support families and staff after hours as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and security of the living environment.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Uphold a respectful, person-centered culture aligned with CHSC values.
