Job summary

Uber Technologies Inc. is hiring an AV Remote Support Specialist in Phoenix, AZ. This 100% in-person role supports autonomous vehicle operations by providing real-time intervention using camera and sensor feeds and guiding vehicles through edge-case scenarios.

The team operates overnight 10pm–7am; candidates must pass certification training, understand U.S. traffic laws, and have at least one year in operations or tech support.

Qualifications

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
• Must pass required certification training.
• Understanding of U.S. traffic laws.
• At least 1 year of experience in operations, technical support, product testing, or similar roles.
• Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license where required.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to stay focused during critical real-time incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time intervention using camera and sensor feeds to support AV operations.
• Guide vehicles through edge-case scenarios (e.g., road closures, obstructions, unusual traffic behavior).
• Exercise judgment in situations without clearly defined procedures.
• Handle escalations and high-complexity incidents as part of core responsibilities.
• Document incidents and provide detailed reports for downstream teams.
• Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to root cause analysis.
