Belmont Behavioral Health System seeks a PRN Admissions Counselor for Saturday overnight shifts (7pm-7am) to facilitate admissions, clinical intake assessments, and utilization review, ensuring appropriate level of care and payer authorization. The role emphasizes timely inquiries, therapeutic rapport, and rapid coordination with physicians and offices.

The position requires a master’s level in social services or a related field (RN preferred) and experience in mental/behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a social services field or RN preferred.
• 1+ years’ experience in mental/behavioral health setting preferred.
• Current licensure as required for the area of specialty, CPR and de‑escalation certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Perform benefit eligibility to ensure patient benefits are active at admission.
• Coordinate admission and transfer between levels of care within the facility.
• Maintain knowledge of milieu management and safety protocols.
• Complete pre-admission assessments and communicate disposition recommendations.
• Prepare and maintain medical record documentation for payor authorization.
• Admit patient in the registration system and complete forms with patient.
