Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services currently seeks an Overhead Transmission Journeyman Lineperson in the Manassas, VA area. The role involves building, maintaining, and repairing overhead transmission lines using approved standards under supervision, and traveling as needed.

The position is full-time and non-exempt, with competitive hourly pay. The candidate will install and service wood poles, towers, and related structures, climb extensive heights, and mentor junior crew members while

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to climb wood/steel poles and lattice towers without Boom/Bucket Truck.
• Able to work at heights up to 100 feet.
• Able to drive all vehicles assigned to the line crew.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain wood poles, H-frames, steel poles, lattices, and concrete poles.
• Install, operate, maintain, and repair overhead electrical power lines and systems.
• Assist in construction of transmission and substation facilities.
• Work on structures for transmission lines from 69 kV to 500 kV.
• Establish OSHA and company/customer safety requirements.
• Mentor ground persons and apprentice line persons.
