Job summary

NV Energy is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to perform overhead and underground transmission and distribution line work, and the construction, erection and maintenance of substations when assigned to a crew under a Working Foreman or Supervisor. Must be qualified to test, maintain, and install duct work, cables, conduits, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under Title 49 CFR Part 382 and Part 40.
• Any applicant/employee who is licensed and would operate a commercial vehicle will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the Company’s FMCSA programs.

Responsibilities

• Framing poles, preassembling material, patrolling and inspecting pole and tower lines, testing and inspecting poles, repairing risers and grounds.
• Replacing guy guards, splicing and terminating underground cables, and installing fiber optic cable and communications.
• Installing customer outdoor lighting service equipment and street fixtures, including connections on circuits with voltage below 750 volts.
