Job summary

PowerGrid Services is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to install, repair and maintain overhead and underground power lines and equipment. This position represents the top step in a multi-step progression from Apprentice Lineman and requires knowledge of Journeyman duties.

You will lead crews, perform heavy lifting, climb poles/structures, and ensure safety on energized transmission work. Travel may be required and overtime is common.

Qualifications

• Requires journeyman level experience installing and maintaining overhead and underground power lines.
• Valid CDL A required.
• First Aid Certification required.
• Competency in CPR and pole top rescue.
• Must pass drug, alcohol and background checks.
• Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able and willing to work overtime in various weather environments.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on installation, maintenance, or repair of energized and de-energized transmission work.
• Capable of leading crew members in the absence of the Foreman.
• String overhead wire and set poles and anchors.
• Troubleshoot problems on transmission systems.
• Proficient in pole/tower climbing and heavy lifting.
• Operate digger derrick and understand phasing sticks and PPE.
• Conduct a JSA briefing and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Able to travel and reside at various locations as required.
