Job summary

Qualus is seeking an Overhead Transmission Line Engineering Manager to lead and grow a dedicated engineering team while shaping technical strategy and creating a culture of high performance. The role partners with the Engineering Director to oversee engineers across offices and ensure rigorous QA/QC and project execution.

Responsibilities include recruiting, coaching, coordinating multi-office resources, collaborating with Business Development, and presenting solutions to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related) from ABET-accredited school.
• Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector.
• Experience in transmission line design for high voltage utility infrastructure is preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and develop engineering staff; manage performance and expectations.
• Contribute engineering input to strategic plans; drive action plans and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical direction to ensure proper engineering processes across projects.
• Develop relationships with senior clients and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate work with multiple engineering offices and cross-train staff for efficiency.
• Support Business Development to maintain a pipeline and backlog of work.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to technical questions.
