Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution C Lineperson in Matthews, NC. This entry‑level line worker installs and maintains overhead distribution and transmission systems, including poles, cables, and electrical equipment, while communicating with property owners and following safety standards.

The role involves driving, climbing, and working with energized lines, with long shifts and potential out-of-state travel for storm work.

Qualifications

• Experience with energized high voltage systems.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of sagging techniques.
• 1–2 years of electrical power line construction experience.
• CDL preferred or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• Willingness to travel out of state for emergency storm work.

Responsibilities

• Install transformers, arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Set poles and anchors, string overhead wire, and apply proper sagging techniques.
• Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems.
• Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits and systems.
• Communicate work to property owners and maintain equipment.
• Perform new construction, maintenance, or repair on energized/de-energized lines.
• Follow company safety standards and report hazards to Foreperson.
