Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services is hiring an entry-level Overhead Distribution C Lineperson to install and repair overhead distribution and transmission systems, including poles, cables, and electrical gear.

You will work on transforming equipment, setting poles, stringing wire, and ensuring safe operation while coordinating with property owners and adhering to safety standards. Travel for emergency storm work may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with energized high voltage systems.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of proper sagging techniques.
• Ability to install and remove a service.
• Willingness to travel for emergency storm work.
• Prior overhead line construction experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Install transformers, arrestors, crossarms, insulators, and switches.
• Set poles, string overhead wire, and apply sagging techniques.
• Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems.
• Replace cutouts/fuses and clear faulted circuits.
• Communicate work details to property owners professionally.
• Inspect and maintain tools and equipment daily.
• Perform new construction, maintenance, or repair on overhead lines.
• Work safely under company safety standards.
• Report potential safety hazards to the Foreperson.
