Job summary

Pike Electric LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a Groundman to join our team. This entry role supports building, repairing, and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems while reporting to the Foreman.

You will perform new construction, assist with installations, and help keep vehicles, tools, and PPE in good condition. The job requires safety focus, the ability to travel, lift up to 50 pounds, and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Groundman role supporting construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems.
• Must be safety-focused with PPE usage and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist team in building, repairing, and maintaining overhead distribution systems.
• Report to Foreman and support new construction activities.
• Install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
• Follow all safety protocols and PPE use; understand insulated protective gear.
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods; know when to wear PPE.
• Hold valid driver's license and obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Work extended hours including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.
