Job summary

River City Construction in New Bern, NC seeks an entry-level Overhead 3rd Class Lineman to contribute to the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems. The role involves climbing poles, ladders, and towers, and requires adherence to safety rules and procedures.

The position supports new construction and maintenance tasks, including frame/install of poles, equipment installations, and keeping company vehicles and tools in good condition.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel and work at different locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction or maintenance of energized and de-energized overhead lines.
• Frame, install, or remove wood, steel, or concrete poles and supports.
• Support installation of conductors, transformers, and switchgear.
• Maintain vehicles, PPE, and tools in good working order.
