Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services in Burlington, NC is seeking an entry-level Overhead Distribution C Lineperson. You will install and maintain overhead power lines, poles, insulators, and related equipment, with exposure to energized systems.

Strong communication and safety discipline are essential for success in this role. Qualifications include experience or ability with high voltage systems, heavy equipment operation, and safe sagging techniques.

Qualifications

• Ability and specific skill to work with energized high voltage systems.
• Must possess strong communication skills both written and spoken.
• Ability to work with and around heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of proper sagging techniques.
• Ability to install and remove a service.
• May be able to identify primary and secondary voltage.

Responsibilities

• Installing transformers, lighting arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Setting poles and anchors, stringing overhead wire, proper sagging techniques.
• Troubleshooting trouble in primary and secondary systems.
• Replacing cutout fuses and clearing faulted circuits and systems.
• Solve problems with unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment.
• Communicate work to be performed with property owners.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• General duties related to installation of overhead power supply.
• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair on energized/de-energized overhead lines.
• All other duties as required by Supervisors.
• Report potential safety hazards to Foreperson
