Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC (5 Star) is a premier electrical contractor serving Kentucky and the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Overhead Distribution Lineman – B Class handles groundman and lineman duties, climbing poles and working energized lines, while upholding strict safety standards.

Candidates must have a valid Class A CDL, DMV/MVR checks, OSHA 10 training within 60 days, and be prepared for on-call rotation and overtime.

Qualifications

• Two to Three (2-3) years of experience or equivalent hours.
• Ability to climb poles and perform strenuous duties in various weather conditions.
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions; communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate service truck and related equipment.
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing rigorous outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Thorough knowledge of methods, practices and equipment of electrical line work.
• Follow safety precautions and maintain safety standards for self and crew.
• Climb poles and perform duties on energized and de-energized lines.
• Digs holes, sets poles, strings wire, and installs transformers and distribution equipment.
• Respond to work orders for disconnections, reconnections, new orders, and other public works service.
• Maintain tools and equipment; stand on-call after hours as needed.
• Report accidents/incidents to foreman and identify safety hazards.
