Job summary

XKIG in Wilson, NC is seeking an Overhead Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems. This entry-level position assists line workers, participates in storm restoration, and adheres to safety rules while performing energized and de-energized work at height.

You must have a valid driver's license, be able to travel, lift 50 lbs, and work overtime. The role requires physical effort, outdoors work, and a willingness to learn rigging and lineman

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Capable of lifting 50+ lbs and performing physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Assist line-workers in meeting project goals.
• Join storm restoration efforts when needed.
• Follow safety rules during construction and maintenance of high-voltage systems.
• Inspect PPE and wear it properly.
• String overhead wire, set poles and anchors.
• Help install transformers, insulators, switches, and cross-arms.
• Maintain and operate company vehicles and tools.
• Perform duties at heights and in confined spaces.
