Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC (5 Star) is seeking an Overhead/Foreman to lead fiber and electrical line crews in a demanding outdoor environment. The role requires supervising installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground lines, ensuring safety, and coordinating with customers and management.

The position demands strong knowledge of pole work, climbing, and working in varied weather, with on-call responsibilities and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three to Four (3-4) years of experience or equivalent hours and/or education/training are expected.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver License is required.
• Must obtain a Clean Class A CDL with Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Be willing to work overtime and storm work.
• Crews can work 40-60 hours per week.
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must have ability for frequent travel on needed training requirements and potential for overtime including storm work.
• Complete OSHA 10hr Safety Training Program within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Foremen will be responsible for daily job briefings and ensuring crew readiness for hazards.
• Responsible for safety of his crew and field supervision over crews in installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground lines.
• Promotes and maintains harmony among crew, customers, and public.
• Checks material, equipment, and manpower requirements; conducts pre-job safety analysis with crew.
• Thorough knowledge of fiber/electrical line work methods and hazards; ensure safety precautions.
• Climbs poles and performs strenuous duties in various weather conditions.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Operate service truck and read/record data from meter dials.
• Responds to work orders for fiber disconnections, reconnections, and new orders.
• Stand on-call after working hours as needed.
• Overhead Fiber Foreman is responsible for safety standards for himself and crew.
• Other duties as assigned.
