Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Foreman to lead crews performing de-energized fiber and electric line work. You will supervise daily field activities, enforce safety, and ensure quality on distribution and transmission projects.

This role requires climbing poles, operating trucks, and coordinating with foremen and management. Strong reading of meter dials, weather resilience, and willingness to work overtime and storm duty are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three to Four (3-4) experience or equivalent hours and/or education/training.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver License is required.
• Must obtain a Clean Class A CDL with Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Be willing to work overtime and storm work.
• Crew can work 40-60 hours per week.
• Must pass criminal and MVR background checks and a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must have ability for frequent travel and overtime including storm work.
• Complete OSHA 10hr Safety Training within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Foremen will be responsible for daily job briefings and ensuring crew readiness for hazards.
• Responsible for safety of crew and field supervision over installation, maintenance, and repair of underground and overhead lines.
• Promotes harmony among crew, customers, and the public.
• Checks material, equipment and manpower needs; conducts pre-job meetings and safety analysis.
• Thorough knowledge of fiber/electrical line work methods and equipment.
• Climbs poles and performs duties in varied weather conditions.
• Reads and records meter dials accurately.
• Operates service trucks and related equipment.
• Performs related work and responds to work orders for fiber disconnections and reconnections.
• Maintains tools and equipment; on-call after hours as needed.
