Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Crane Operator for our Salina, KS Coatings site. You will operate the 15-ton overhead bridge crane to ensure high quality galvanized products, while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires reading and following instructions, basic math, and strong safety awareness. Shifts available include 2nd (2:30pm–11:00pm) and 3rd (10:00pm–6:30am), with starting pay $23.00/hour plus $1.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

• The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.
• The ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
• The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner.
• The ability to work in extreme temperatures with exposure to smoke and irritating particulates.

Responsibilities

• Monitor steel products in the process tanks and zinc baths to achieve high quality end result.
• Inspect hooks and chains and use gauges to check thickness of the crane setup.
• Operate and maneuver the drossing equipment safely.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations.
• Operate radio controlled crane while standing and walking down the galvanizing process.
