Job summary

Valmont Industries in Salina, KS is seeking a Crane Operator to run the galvanizing department’s 15-ton overhead bridge crane safely and efficiently. You will monitor steel products, inspect crane setup and hooks, and support a high-quality finish on galvanizing processes.

We seek candidates with the ability to read instructions, perform basic math, communicate well with coworkers, and endure extreme temperatures. A High School Diploma or GED and experience with overhead cranes are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Comfort working in extreme temperatures with exposure to smoke/particulates.
• Commitment to safety and quality in galvanizing operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor steel products in tanks and zinc baths to ensure quality.
• Inspect hooks/chains and check crane setup and thickness with gauges.
• Operate drossing equipment safely per procedure.
• Wear required PPE and follow safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe, productive work environment on the line.
• Operate a radio-controlled crane along the galvanizing process.
