Job summary

Millennium Galvanizing is hiring a Kettle Crane Operator I to operate the overhead bridge crane (Demag 5 ton / 10 ton) and manage the galvanizing process from dipping to finish. You will lift and move heavy steel parts, monitor baths, and ensure a neat, corrosion-resistant coating.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, safety-first mindset, and at least one year of crane operation experience in a galvanizing setting.

Qualifications

• Overhead crane operation experience required or preferred.
• Experience operating Demag cranes is a plus.
• Must maintain an excellent safety record.
• Regular, reliable attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Operates overhead bridge crane (Demag 5/10 ton) to lift and move heavy steel products.
• Observes load hookup safety and determines load safety after connection.
• Monitors steel products in process tanks and zinc baths.
• Inspects hooks and chains and uses gauges to check crane setup thickness.
• Manipulates crane controls to regulate speed and direction of the overhead crane.
• Operates and maneuvers the equipment in a safe and proper manner.
• Performs paddling functions to enhance galvanized product quality.
• Cleans and maintains cranes and hoisting mechanisms.
• Inspects cranes for defective parts and notifies supervisor of issues.
• Inspects and reports rusted, damaged, bent, or mis-welded materials.
• Wears PPE and follows safety regulations.
• Maintains a safe and productive work environment.
