Job summary

Egis is seeking an Overhead Contact Systems Lead for our Sacramento office to provide technical leadership on overhead systems for a high-speed rail project. You will influence system performance, costing, compliance, construction, and ongoing maintenance, collaborating with stakeholders and project teams across disciplines.

The role requires hands-on knowledge of Overhead Line Equipment and emerging rail technology, strong communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with diverse

Qualifications

• Strong background in Overhead Contact System, particularly for high speed operation.
• Strong railway system background with knowledge of interfaces between elements of a high-speed railway.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Plan and deliver appropriate systems to understand future demand and emerging technologies.
• Manage third parties so that service levels are met.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, industry and company standards.
• Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartered status.
• Engineering management experience involving technical and business risk assessment.
• Relevant professional qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-speed rail system meeting client requirements.
• Develop performance requirements for rail systems specification.
• Provide guidance on development within rail systems to stay at the forefront of safety and performance.
• Offer specialist guidance on system integration and interfaces between rail systems and other works.
• Provide technical support within the project team as needed.
• Establish technical content for Overhead Contact System requirements and standards.
• Update design criteria for future contracts.
• Review safety, performance and compatibility of designs and provide feedback.
• Participate in or lead audits against requirements, process or contract.
• Contribute to development of RFPs and evaluation of proposals.
