Job summary

Network Rail Consulting seeks an Associate Director – OCS in Sacramento to lead technical guidance on overhead contact systems for high-speed rail projects. You will work within the High-Speed Rail Systems Engineering team, ensuring safety, compliance and performance from design through operation.

You will manage contracts, support RFPs, and coordinate interfaces with rail entities, while mentoring engineers and shaping project standards.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Overhead Contact Systems, ideally in a high-speed railway environment.
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary projects with risk assessment and mitigation.
• Management of contracts and procurement across large infrastructure programs.
• PE/Chartered engineer status and active professional body membership.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical guidance on OCS design, safety and performance requirements.
• Support product acceptance, project management and interface with rail entities.
• Develop OCS standards content and update design criteria manuals.
• Contribute to RFPs and evaluate contractor proposals.
• Coordinate day-to-day contract management for HV connections.
