Job summary

Egis in the U.S. is seeking an Overhead Contact Systems Lead for our Sacramento office. You will lead technical work on high-speed rail projects, focusing on system performance specification, costing, and compliance for overhead contact systems.

You will collaborate with project teams, interface with contractors, and guide design, testing, and operation to ensure safety and reliability. Based in Sacramento, CA, you will contribute to innovative rail infrastructure and connect communities.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Overhead Contact System, particularly for high speed operation.
• Strong railway system background with knowledge and understanding of interfaces between different elements that make up a high-speed railway.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Plan and deliver appropriate systems to understand future demand, emerging technologies and areas for improvement.
• Manage third parties so that service levels are met.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, industry and company standards.
• Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartered status.
• Engineering management experience involving technical and business risk assessment.
• Relevant professional qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-speed rail system meeting client requirements.
• Develop performance requirements for rail systems specification in compliance with standards.
• Provide guidance on development to keep systems specification ahead of industry safety and performance.
• Offer technical guidance to system integration and interfaces between rail systems and other works.
• Provide technical support within the project team for specialist advice.
• Establish technical content for Overhead Contact System requirements and standards.
• Update design criteria for future contracts.
• Review safety, performance and compatibility of project designs and provide feedback.
• Participate in or lead audits.
• Contribute to development of RFPs and evaluation of contractor proposals.
• Monitor contractual commitments to ensure compliance.
