Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is hiring a CDL A driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations. The role requires safe operation, pre-trip inspections, and accurate documentation.

Qualified candidates must hold a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements (automatic transmission allowed) and have 1 year of relevant experience or completed FedEx Driver Development. MVR checks and DOT requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission allowed.
• 1 year experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT 391 FMC regulations.
• LCV experience may be required in specified states.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and logs.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with all laws and company policies.
