Job summary

Horizon Forest Products is seeking a highly motivated outside sales professional to join our team in the Houston area. You will generate leads, meet sales goals, and play a key role in the company’s growth within the Texas region.

Essential duties include establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, developing sales strategies, negotiating terms, and coordinating with departments to ensure accurate orders and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains relationships with current and prospective customers in an assigned territory.
• Develops and implements sales strategy to drive sales.
• Negotiates prices, terms, and service agreements; prepares contracts and submits orders.
• Coordinates with purchasing, management and staff to ensure accurate order processing and product distribution.
• Identifies new customers through networking and cold calls.
• Matches products to customer needs using knowledge of products and field.
• Monitors competitors by gathering information on competing products.
• Provides management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, and interests.

Horizon Forest Products is the distributor of Impressions Flooring Collection and offers customers over 75 years of industry experience and one of the most comprehensive inventories of pre-finished and unfinished hardwood flooring, floor equipment, abrasives, finishes, fasteners, and accessories in the mid-Atlantic and Texas region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in an assigned territory
• Develops and implements effective sales strategy to drive sales
• Negotiates prices, terms of sales and/or service agreements, prepares contracts and submits orders
• Collaborates with purchasing departments, manager and other staff to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and that products are distributed properly
• Identifies and locates new customers through a variety of methods including networking and cold calls
• Applies knowledge of the field and products features to match products to the needs of the customers
• Monitors competition by gathering information on competing products
• Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer’s needs, problems, interests,

competitive activities and potential for new products and services

• Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments by attending meeting, workshops and conventions
