Our client is an established provider of commercial equipment solutions serving institutional and public-sector customers. The organization is expanding its sales presence in Pennsylvania and is seeking an experienced outside sales professional to develop the territory while working closely with a strong internal support team.
Position Overview
We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative to drive revenue growth and expand market share throughout an assigned Pennsylvania territory. This individual will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing customer relationships, and navigating public-sector and institutional procurement processes.
This is a field-based position for someone who is comfortable owning a territory, building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and managing the sales process from initial prospecting through project coordination and completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities across an assigned Pennsylvania territory.
- Build and maintain relationships with public-sector and institutional customers.
- Manage existing accounts while identifying opportunities to expand revenue and market share.
- Navigate government and institutional purchasing, bidding, and procurement processes.
- Present commercial equipment solutions based on customer needs, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with internal support teams to ensure accurate proposals, successful project execution, and strong customer service.
- Develop and execute a strategic territory plan focused on both new account development and growth within existing relationships.
- Maintain consistent communication with customers and internal teams throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
- Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory, with occasional overnight travel as needed.
Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years of successful outside sales or territory development experience.
- Demonstrated success developing new business and growing an assigned market.
- Experience selling to government, education, public-sector, or institutional customers strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial equipment, distribution, construction-related products, or other project-based sales environments is a plus.
- Comfortable navigating formal bidding, purchasing, and procurement processes.
- Ability to understand technical specifications, drawings, or project requirements is preferred.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Highly organized and capable of independently managing a large geographic territory.
- Comfortable with frequent travel and a field-based sales environment.
- Base Salary: $75,000–$120,000, based on experience.
