Job summary

The Container Store in Richmond, VA is seeking an Outside Sales & Design Consultant to design and sell custom storage solutions for homes and select small to mid-sized businesses, by appointment. You will manage projects from in-home consultation through design, installation, and organizing, while building repeat clientele and referrals.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred; 2–5 years outside sales experience.
• Self-starter with strong organization and white-glove service mindset.
• Knowledge of design principles for custom spaces and interior design.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel; Salesforce; AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed sales goals for residential, business, and trade clients.
• Design and present customized space solutions to clients.
• Manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail, timelines, and follow-up.
• Develop new leads through referrals and partnerships; build local relationships with designers, builders, realtors, and property managers.
• Travel-based client engagement within the local market; attend installations as needed.
