Job description

Salary Range

This position is eligible for our Account Manager Commission Program, which includes a range of salary and total compensation (salary + commission and accelerator) that varies based on assigned accounts and the total GP$ associated with those accounts.

  • Base Salary Range: $37,500-$133,125
  • Base Commission: Earned monthly on paid gross profit dollars (GP$) above the threshold.
  • Accelerators: Earned quarterly based on meeting specific goals, with payouts on all paid GP$ above the threshold once goals are met.
Position Overview

DSG is seeking an Electrical Outside Sales Account Manager for the Twin Cities, MN metro area. As an Outside Sales Account Manager, you will actively promote DSG products and services to both contractors and industrial accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction to maintain and build strong business relationships with our customers, partners, and communities.

A Typical Day in the Life
  • Travel up to 125 miles of the branch to establish, manage, and maintain strong customer relationships and accounts by providing excellent customer service, including responding to and calling on customers as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Associates to identify, prioritize, and implement initiatives that improve customer satisfaction and territory growth.
  • Seek and develop new customer opportunities and accounts.
  • Introduce, promote, and demonstrate new products and marketing programs.
  • Communicate with Branch Manager and Purchasing Agents regarding changes in product demands.
  • Facilitate the customer ordering process, including processing orders, correcting errors, responding to inquiries about open or back orders, handling product returns, and suggesting improvements to the order process.
Qualifications

A successful Electrical Outside Sales Account Manager typically has:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary degree preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Product and technical knowledge usually acquired through two or more years of college or technical school, or 3-5 years of field experience in electrical applications.
  • Strong sales skills with a proven track record of territory development.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong follow-through skills.
  • Basic understanding of electrical software and programs to assist customers with designs and rebates.
  • Familiarity with DSG Web Commerce and the ability to instruct customers on its use.
  • Excellent time management skills.
