Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking an Outreach Specialist to support the Highway Technician Certification Program (HTCP) and work with state agencies and the public. You will serve as the primary contact for inquiries, registrations, and troubleshooting, while ensuring smooth program operations.

This full-time role requires coordination across departments, data management in Salesforce, event planning support, and professional communication to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of administrative support, program coordination, or customer service in a professional office setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail.
• Experience with registration systems, customer service platforms (e.g. Salesforce), or learning management systems (e.g. Canvas).
• Experience handling financial transactions, including credit card processing and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the program’s primary contact for inquiries (phone, email, in-person) and handle registrations/payments.
• Ensure compliance with credit card transaction standards and annual program certification.
• Handle procurement and office management supplies.
• Administer Salesforce data, reporting, and system functionality; support staff on troubleshooting inquiries.
• Coordinate new hire setup with Human Resources; manage exam coordinator and proctoring.
