Job summary

Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Illinois is seeking a full-time RN for the GI services department. Position involves preparation and recovery of patients undergoing endoscopy and minor procedures, with ACLS and BLS required. Typical hours are 8-hour shifts, Mon-Fri, with rotating start times.

Minimum 2 years of critical care/telemetry or outpatient procedure experience preferred. Responsibilities include nursing care across the continuum, patient and family engagement, and adherence to

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges in the required state(s).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS required.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Engage in quality initiatives and governance to improve care processes.
• Utilize nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans with the care team.
• Uphold a culture of safety and ensure accurate EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Communicate effectively and support team collaboration and delegation.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain certifications.
• May float to other units as needed.
