Responsibilities

• Staff Central Scheduling telephone lines.
• Field telephone calls, answer questions and obtain information concerning scheduling of outpatient procedures and schedule appointments.
• Obtain pertinent clinical history prior to scheduling exam and document in Central Scheduling software.
• Maintain medical terminology skills necessary for capturing clinical history.
• Identify inefficiencies in utilization within participating departments.
• Data entry of scheduling information in Central Scheduling software.
• Initiate follow-up with customers including physicians, staff and departments; provide patient prep instructions.
• Use multiple databases and systems for scheduling.
• Promote Central Scheduling through health promotion seminars and community outreach.
• Maintain contact with CAMC departments and affiliates.
• Maintain accurate, legible records; keep area organized.
• Conduct inventory of supplies and equipment as needed.
• Use cost-effective measures.
• Prepare schedules for all outpatient procedures.
