Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY is seeking an experienced Manager, Chemical Dependency Program to lead the outpatient substance use treatment program.

You will supervise a team of counselors, social workers and peer advocates, ensure regulatory standards are met, manage intake processes, and coordinate care with the program’s psychiatrist and psychologist to deliver high-quality services.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or related field.
• Three years experience in assessment and treatment of substance use disorders.
• Must be a Qualified Health Professional (QHP) and possess a license in Social Work (LMSW or LCSW), Mental Health Counseling (LMHC) or other clinical field.
• Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Must be organized and able to work well independently.
• Must possess the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Must demonstrate a knowledge of substance use and psychiatric risk assessment.
• Must possess knowledge and experience with personal computers and electronic medical records and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day to day activities of program, ensuring all patients are scheduled for clinical services as needed and that standards are met.
• Ensure program compliance with city, state and federal regulations and hospital policies.
• Liaise with OASAS, NYC DOHMH, HRA and other agencies as needed.
• Supervise staff to ensure high quality clinical services.
• Provide clinical in-service trainings and supervision.
• Coordinate referral and intake process for prompt scheduling and engagement in treatment.
• Develop and oversee all clinical offerings within the program.
• Complete evaluations of supervised staff as required.
• Train staff on policies and initiate disciplinary processes when indicated.
• Maintain full staff coverage and monitor staffing issues.
• Manage incidents and conflicts with deescalation strategies.
• Maintain patient rights throughout treatment.
• Participate in fair hearings when required.
• Lead interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Oversee counselor follow-up on team recommendations.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring and orienting new staff.
• Develop orientation protocol for new staff.
• Maintain reporting to leadership and regulatory agencies.
• Provide coverage for other outpatient managers when needed.
• Facilitate CQI program and report CQI indicators.
• Coordinate annual patient satisfaction data collection.
• Conduct monthly chart reviews and utilization reviews.
