Job summary

BayMark Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients through medically assisted treatments in an outpatient setting.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group counseling while coordinating services with physicians and nurses to promote recovery. BAART Programs, a BayMark Health Services company, emphasizes compassionate care, crisis management, and family involvement in recovery.

Qualifications

• Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Behavioral Science.
• Experience in substance abuse counseling preferred.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and eligibility interviews.
• Develop and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Provide individual and group counseling; coordinate services during treatment.
• Involve families in the recovery process when possible.
• Address patient grievances and coordinate discharge/aftercare plans.
