Job summary

BayMark Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to assist patients through medically assisted programs and provide techniques for handling opioid addiction. The role includes individual and group sessions, crisis management, and collaboration with doctors, nurses, and therapists to optimize patient outcomes.

The position emphasizes thorough clinical documentation, adherence to state regulations, and ongoing progress evaluation of patients in a supportive outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a CADC or be working toward a CADC and able to obtain within 2 years of working while supervised.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals;
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records)
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status to the treatment team.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop/implement treatment plans per state regulations.
• Provide clinical services and patient education for opiate addiction care.
• Maintain excellent documentation and computer skills.
• Perform other duties as determined by supervisor.
