Job summary

BAART Programs, a BayMark Health Services company, is seeking an experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients through medically assisted treatments in an outpatient clinic setting. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group counseling aimed at crisis management and coping strategies.

The role requires empathy, a non-judgmental attitude, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Behavioral Science or related field.
• Substance abuse counseling experience preferred.
• Must pass drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessments for service eligibility.
• Facilitates initial treatment plans with patients.
• Provides individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinates services across treatment team and during discharge planning.
• Involves families in the recovery process whenever possible.
• Responds to patient grievances and complaints.
• Develops aftercare and discharge plans.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
