Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Shakopee, MN is seeking an entry level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients within the ESKD health care team.

You will collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians, participate in teaching and quality improvement, and advance through CAP requirements to achieve higher levels within the program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under supervision and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or RN team.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during hemodialysis and documents in the medical record.
• Educates patients and families on learning needs and plans of care.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy with staff collaboration.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates emergency response measures when needed.
• Participates in staff training, orientation, and quality improvement activities.
• Ensures proper laboratory collection, processing, and scheduling.
• Updates nursing assessment and plan of care with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Provides transplant and modality option information to patients.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
